Band 3  £22,816 -£24,336  per annum  pro rata

Hours: 22.5 hrs per week, all MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working

The department provides a breast screening and symptomatic service for the population of Milton Keynes.

Milton Keynes Breast Service has a well-established multidisciplinary team with excellent radiology, surgical and histopathology services.
Our team participates in many local health promotion activities in and around Milton Keynes.

We are seeking applications from a suitably qualified, enthusiastic and highly motivated candidate to join our friendly administrative breast care team.

The successful post holder will be responsible for the administration of breast screening clients and symptomatic patients and will contribute to the safe running of the breast screening office, ensuring that all NHS Breast Screening Programme targets and Trust standards are met.

 A flexible approach to the needs of the department is essential as there is a requirement for evening and possible weekend work.

Previous experience, preferably within a healthcare environment, word processing skills together with excellent accuracy and a working experience of Microsoft computer applications are essentials. Prior experience using NBSS is desirable.

Main duties of the job

  • To Ensure all mammograms and paperwork are available for all clinic
  • Collate screening and symptomatic mammograms for the Multidisciplinary Team Meetings.
  • To support the administration of the screening programme – this will include generating and sending letters, changing appointments and clinics in liaison with the radiographers, inputting results on the computer, generating results letters and GP letters. Entering relevant details into the computer on a daily basis.
  • Communication – to include answering telephone calls which may be for appointment changes, questions relevant to breast screening, enquiries from a variety of sources including GPs, Primary Care Support Services, health organisations, etc

The successful candidate will work well in a team environment and possess excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • Good standard of education – GCSEs or equivalent

Experience

  • Previous experience of working in a hospital department/frontline hospital role
