As a Band 6 Radiographer, you will be expected to work independently in accordance with departmental Standard Operating procedures and be accountable for your own actions to the Section Head of the MRI Department, escalating any concerns to your manager when necessary.

The Imaging department provides a wide range of services for patients within a variety of settings. These procedures may be performed as an outpatient appointment or may involve an in-patient stay and will require the postholder’s highly skilled standards of technique.

The MRI service is a patient focused service. Examinations are varied, ranging from Neuro, Pelvic and Abdominal, Musculoskeletal, Breast and Peripherals. The MRI service is provided for a range of patients such as neonates and elderly, inpatients, and outpatients.

Further investment is underway, including the construction of Oak Wards – a new ward block featuring two 24-bed wards – and the recently approved Women and Children’s Centre, set to open by 2030.
