This is an exciting time to join our amazing team in Children’s Services as we are working on the project to expand our services and building a NEW Children’s Hospital, which will bring opportunities for career development in different areas (including specialist care, Advance clinical practice, etc)
We welcome enthusiastic, caring and motivated individuals to join our team as staff nurses to provide dynamic, high-quality family centred nursing care to Children, Young People and Babies
This role will require someone who really wants to develop themselves in a very supportive environment. You will need to be competent, caring, courageous, and compassionate, with the proven ability to work individually and as part of a multi-disciplinary team. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate their commitment to continuously developing professionally whilst supporting colleagues in an acute clinical environment

Main duties of the job
The post holder will work independently, in conjunction with the wider Childrens nursing team and Emergency Department to deliver and maintain a high standard of nursing care, within the framework of National and Trust policies, referring to senior colleagues as needed.
To be responsible for all aspects of patient care including the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of personalised care, ensuring patients feel safe, supported and informed to make decisions regarding their care, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to maintain safe and effective care at all times.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Clinical Responsibilities
• To provide the highest standard of evidenced based nursing care for children, young people and their families in line with local and nationally agreed standards and guidelines.
• To be responsible for the unsupervised assessment of patient care needs and the development, implementation, and evaluation of plans of care, ensuring high standards of evidence-based care.
Professional Responsibilities
• To comply with Trust policies and practice within the NMC Standards and guidelines.
• To maintain professional registration and fulfil revalidation requirements.
Education and Training
• To assist, when necessary, with induction and orientation programmes
• To participate in the sharing of knowledge with colleagues.
Other Duties
• The post holder will be expected to work in other areas of the Trust, within their skill set, as required to support & maintain patient safety in periods of high acuity.
• As part of ongoing professional development, and when required, act as Nurse in Charge in the absence of a Band 6/Sister, with appropriate guidance and support from senior nursing staff.

- Childrens Nursing Degree
- Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) PIN
- Paediatric Immediate Life Support (PILS)
- Knowledge of current professional issues in nursing
- Knowledge of infection control
- Knowledge of policies and procedures for the safeguarding of children
- Knowledge of national guidelines for paediatrics
