Job overview

The Physiotherapy Department is seeking part time Receptionists to join their  friendly departments and teams at  Stoke Mandeville Hospital (34 hrs).
This busy role requires excellent communication and customer care skills, strong multitasking ability, and a warm, professional approach. You will provide an efficient reception service, supporting both patients and the clinical team with a range of administrative duties related to supporting the out patient therapy services.
Computer skills are desirable, and full training will be provided on our electronic booking system

Main duties of the job

•    Manage and schedule appointments.
•   Provide professional reception service for the department, welcoming patients and their relatives, in professional and empathic manner, dealing with telephone calls and enquiries.
•    Work closely with clinical and operational team to ensure smooth operation of clinics.
•    Maintain and manage patient records, including registration, data entry, and records management in line with guidelines.
•    Manage incoming and outgoing post and ensure reception areas are secure at the end of the day.
•    Provide cross-site cover when required
•    Participate in audits, surveys, and ongoing training.
•    Undertake other duties appropriate to the role.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING

Essential criteria
  • RSA I / II or equivalent typing/ keyboard qualification
  • Level 3 GCSE’s ( grade C or above or equivalent to include English)

EXPERIENCE

Essential criteria
  • Able to accept and undertake responsibility for designated tasks
  • Secretarial/ reception experience and dealing with face to face patients or customers
  • 6 months experience within a customer care (face to face) environment.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience using word
  • Experience using Careflow system

SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE

Essential criteria
  • Clear, concise verbal and written communication to ensure liaison with multi disciplinary team, patients and carers to ensure records and reports are accurate, legal and in legible manner (in English)
  • Demonstrate good organisational skills
  • Demonstrate insight into the importance of maintaining a safe working environment
  • Ability to learn / ability to self initiate learning (evidence within the last 2 years)
  • Able to work within a team setting
  • Evidence of self motivation and initiative
  • Able to know own limitations and seek advice
