Senior Clinical Fellow in Neuroanaesthesia and Neuroscience
NHS Medical & Dental: Senior Clinical Fellow
Job overview
Applications are invited for the post of Senior Clinical Fellow in Neuroanaesthesia and Neuroscience at Addenbrooke's Hospital, part of Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, commencing on 03 February 2027 & 04 August 2027. These posts are for a period of 12 months.
This fellowship post would suit applicants who have completed or nearly completed a recognised anaesthetic specialist training programme, including someone who already possesses a CCT in anaesthesia or a senior anaesthetic registrar at UK ST6/7 level.
The post offers the opportunity to develop and increase anaesthetic experience in Neuroanaesthesia, prior to taking up a consultant post. The level of supervision will be tailored to the Fellow’s prior experience with the ultimate aim of independent practice with distant supervision, so to work at junior consultant level with senior consultant support.
Main duties of the job
To be considered applicants must meet the essential criteria as detailed in the person specification.
A Senior Clinical Fellow will be effectively working at Junior Consultant level with Senior Consultant support and distant supervision available at all times. Senior Clinical Fellows participate in a non-resident on call rota.
The Fellow will be expected to cover the Neuroanaesthesia service or the Stroke Thrombectomy service out of hours on a EWTD shift pattern.
Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at time of commencement is required.
Please note that these posts do not carry Postgraduate Dean’s approval or training recognition.
Working for our organisation
The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.
Applications from job seekers who require skilled worker sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. For further information please visit the UK Visas and Immigration website.
It is a requirement for skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, to present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement.
Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is an Equal Opportunities Employer.
