Job overview

We are looking for a Band 6 nurse to join our small and friendly team on Ward K2.  If you are motivated, like to work collaboratively and confident that you meet the professional requirements for this role, please apply. Ideally you will be a cardiac nurse with experience in cardiac catheter lab. The role requires that you work in a small MDT within a day unit with no weekend working or unsocial hours. You will be assisting the Senior Sister to lead and manage the responsibilities within the Unit and also cover the Division D bleep holder role per rota. Main duties of the job

To assist the Ward Manager in the overall running of the ward and the co-ordination of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure a safe individualized, holistic and evidence-based patient focused cared.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Current registration with NMC on part one or two of the register
  • Evidence of continuing professional development and its application
Desirable criteria
  • Teaching Assessing Qualification
  • Experience / course in clinical specialty or relevant field e.g. ENB 249, 998, N05

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of shift: shift ward management in absence of senior colleagues
  • Experience of mentoring junior staff
  • Experience of teaching junior staff
  • Post registration experience in a relevant field
  • Experience as a Divisional Bleep holder
Desirable criteria
  • Experience as Cardiac Nurse
  • Experience of delegated ward manager responsibility during the absence of manager
  • Experience of clinical supervision/action learning/reflective practice

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • NMC Code of Conduct and guidelines of professional practice
  • Sound theoretical and practical knowledge of nursing within the clinical area
  • Health and Safety Awareness
