Job overview
K3/CCU is the Cardiology specialist ward for Addenbrookes Hospital.
We manage the care for patients requiring cardiac care and/or preparation for further cardiac treatment or investigations. Our ward focuses on delivering an optimal patient experience. We are a motivated and committed multi-disciplinary team who strive to provide best practice within a supportive and progressive culture. We are seeking a full time Band 2 Ward Clerk with good communication skills to provide support to our patients and nursing team. The successful candidate will work in a supportive team & will work Monday – Friday 8-4. They will cover ward K3 and support CCU when there is no ward clerk cover there. You will liaise with Royal Papworth hospital to ensure reports and images are sent in a timely manner to allow ease of patient transfer, support NIC with tasks on the ward such as booking transport, reporting issues to estates & facilities & updating EPIC from the Drs board round. You will be the welcoming face to K3 for patients and visitors, as well as answering the phone.
Main duties of the job
Apply appropriate communication methods using a range of verbal and non-verbal skills effectively and professionally welcoming and treating everyone (patients, relatives, colleagues and Trust Staff) in a friendly and courteous manner presenting a good image of yourself through your attitude, behaviour and appearance.
Plan and organise a range of straightforward tasks to set timescales to ensure the provision of a professional clerical/administrative/secretarial service by as requested by manager and others i.e. patients, relatives, colleagues and Trust Staff.
Produce work of the quality and quantity as required ensuring expected Trust and department standards and deadlines are met.
