Job overview

We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced and passionate Diagnostic Radiographer with Postgraduate qualification in Chest Reporting to join our team of Reporting Radiographers in a fixed term post until May 2026.

 

 

Main duties of the job

You will undertake independent image interpretation in line with the defined Scope of Practice with the view to provide detailed written reports to the referring clinicians, to determine diagnosis where applicable.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • BSc in Diagnostic Radiography
  • Masters level qualification in Chest and Abdomen image interpretation
  • HCPC Registration
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of further relevant study

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Extensive experience in Chest and Abdomen reporting
  • Leadership experience
  • Extensive experience in NHS plain film imaging departments since qualification
  • Experience of PACS/Radiology systems
  • Commitment to CPD
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of CPD
  • Experience of teaching

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Expert Knowledge of anatomy and pathology associated with Chest and Abdomen reporting
  • Knowledge of the National Optimal Lung Cancer Pathway (NOLCP)
  • Sound knowledge of governance processes related to reporting
  • Open to the acquisition of new skills and knowledge
  • Good understanding and working knowledge of PACS and Radiology Systems
  • Have a sound understanding of general X-ray anatomy, physics and safety
  • Understanding of QSI
  • Knowledge of local polices and procedures including IR(ME)R
  • Understanding of ISAS
Desirable criteria
  • Participation in audit processes related to reporting
  • Understanding of audit in relation to service provision
  • Experience in research
  • Experience in QSI
