Job overview
We are seeking a motivated and highly organised individual to join the Neurosciences Directorate and lead the administration team for neurosurgery, paediatric neurosurgery and rehabilitation services.
You will lead a large administrative team and be the key contact between Clinicians, staff and patients across all services. You will be responsible for managing patient pathways to meet Nationally mandated NHS targets and provide daily support to the administrative staff and maintain effective communication across the team.
You will be expected to report on key metrics within the department and present to Trust in various forums.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who would like to develop their operational management and leadership skills.
Main duties of the job
You will provide leadership and management to the administrative teams within the Neurosurgery, Paediatric Neurosurgery and Rehabilitation Services ensuring that key targets are met ton deliver care to our patient groups.
You must be able to undertake the analysis and interpretation of complex information from a range of sources highlighting trends and/or inconsistencies.

- Experience of line managing staff in a patient facing environment
- Experience of using mathematical and statistical analysis
- Experience of preparing reports and presentations

- Experience of using information across the NHS
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Able to work with large complex datasets
- Computer literate with advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications, specifically Excel and Word
- Understanding of NHS Access Policy and national targets for RTT
- In depth knowledge of patient pathways and patient tracking processes
- Understanding of patient confidentiality and GDPR
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of Microsoft Teams
- In depth knowledge of NHS PAS and EPR or similar administration system
