Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the administration team within our imaging department/X-ray. You should have the ability to work well under pressure, be organised and have excellent attention to detail. You must be able to work both independently and as part of a team, liaise with staff at all levels in a confident manner, and be willing to learn.

We are a diverse and friendly team who are dedicated and highly motivated to ensure both patients and staff receive the best service. As part of our Imaging Administration team you will be required to work on a rotating shift pattern within our specialist areas. This is to broaden your skills and knowledge and to assist colleagues in different departments.

Please note the role involves working both at Addenbrookes Hospital and Saffron Walden Community Hospital.

Main duties of the job

You will provide high quality administrative support to the department.

Tasks will include typing, reception duties, customer service, maintaining databases, booking appointments/meeting, filing, organising and booking meeting rooms and general administrative support to the Department.

You will play a key role in the efficient day to day activities of the department. You will often be the first point of contact for the department and will be required to communicate in a professional and courteous manner.

You will answer general queries and explain information relating to the department.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
  • NVQ level 2 Customer Service/Business Admin/ITQ or equivalent.
Desirable criteria
  • Admin or equivalent experience.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working in a busy office environment or reception role.
  • Experience of prioritising, planning and organising own tasks.
  • Working within guidelines.
  • Experience of customer service or dealing with the public.
  • Data entry.
  • Experience of IT packages – Microsoft Office.

  • Previous experience of working in the NHS.
  • Previous experience of working within medical records.
