Applications are invited for a full time Clinical Fellow (Higher ST6+/Senior Post CCT) in Plastic Surgery (Microsurgery).

This post is available ASAP for 6 months with the possibility of extension.

Applications will be considered for subsequent start points i.e. 06 August 2025, 04 February 2026.

Main duties of the job

You will join our team of 16 Consultant Plastic Surgeons, four with a specialist interest in Breast Reconstruction, four with a specialist interest in Head and Neck reconstruction (including surgery for facial palsy) and three upper limb and three lower limb reconstruction consultants.

You will have the opportunity to be involved with a large number of microsurgical procedures carried out by the department and will take on greater levels of responsibility as the post progresses. We are a Major Trauma Centre covering the East of England and you will have the opportunity to manage complex Limb reconstructions.

This post would best suit a senior trainee who wishes to maximise the microsurgical experience prior to obtaining a definitive consultant post.

Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at time of application is required.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

You will be asked to support the general Plastic Surgery service. You will be expected to contribute to departmental activity including the training of junior staff and allied professionals, research, and clinical audit. You will be given an excellent opportunity to further your skills and potentially become a leader in the field of microsurgical reconstruction. This post does not carry an on-call commitment.
