Job overview
Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Fellow (F2 equivalent) to commence on 5 August 2026 for a period of 12 months.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for the patient screening and recruitment to stroke RRDN portfolio trials at CUH, ensuring they are conducted according to ICH Good Clinical Practice guidelines ensuring department safeguards for the well-being of patient/study participants.
In conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team, the post holder will facilitate good quality research, work closely with research nurse team and monitor standards of care.
This post is a three part post involving clinical skills and expert knowledge, research and an educational component.
The post holder is responsible for supporting the provision of high quality, patient focused multi-professional clinical research and care.

Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at time of application.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Responsible for identifying eligible clinical research participants, provision of information and support to patients/ participant, study recruitment and consent, co-ordination of study treatment/ interventions, assessing, developing and implementing specialist nursing care and data collection according to study protocols in accordance with ICH Good Clinical Practice, EU Clinical Trials legislation and the NHS research Governance framework.

Essential criteria
- Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at time of application
- Completion of Foundation Competencies (Core CF)
- 6 months clinical experience employed as a doctor in the NHS
- Logbook indicating validated experience of appropriate range and number of clinical procedures
Desirable criteria
- ATLS/ALS Course
- MRCP or equivalent qualification
- Completion of a Core Medical Training Programme or equivalent
