To provide operational management and support to the clinical leadership team and across the wider service.

To contribute to, quality improvement and problem-solving across the clinical pathways.

Ensuring clinical interventions are implemented in line with the latest NICE guidelines for psychological interventions.

Ensure clinical governance arrangements are in place to cover all the clinical activity.

Ensure that staff are appropriately skilled and trained to deliver the service and to provide supervision.

Ensure satisfactory supervision arrangements are in place for all elements of service delivery.

Clinical governance arrangements are in place to cover all the clinical activity.

To adhere to all clinical policies and procedures.

Ensure that care delivered is based on the assessment of care needs and includes a thorough risk assessment and risk management plan.

Take special responsibility for the assessment of risk about clients accessing the service.

Person specification

Education/Qualifications

Essential criteria

Registered Nurse for Mental Health or Learning Disability and registered with the NMC with a diploma and/or degree, Practice Educator. OR • Qualified Social Worker with current registration to practice in the UK.
Educated to degree level or equivalent level of experience.
Evidence of continued personal and professional development.
Mentor and mentorship training.

Desirable criteria

Teaching/coaching experience.
Leadership training.

Experience

Significant post-registration experience in working with people with complex health problems and mental health needs in the criminal justice pathway.
Experience in effective collaborative working.
Evidence of ability to drive for results.
Evidence of experience in service evaluation and improvements
Evidence of Interdisciplinary / multi-agency working experience.
Experience in supervising staff.
Experience in partnership working with stakeholders.
Experience in developing user and carer involvement strategies in service evaluation, development, and the recovery process.

We limit this to one responsibility to allow for focused time on that topic, rather than having your time stretched too thinly. When taking on an additional responsibility, your case volume is reduced, making time available for this focused time.

For Senior Assessors, additional responsibility options include supporting more complex cases, ensuring quality assurance, providing training, facilitating family engagement, and contributing to pathway development.
