As a staff nurse here, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high quality, compassionate care, working collaboratively with the MDT in implementation of personalize treatment plans. Support patients in a holistic manner on their recovery journey, use your clinical expertise to contribute to a therapeutic environment and champion compassionate patient-focused approach.
The ideal candidate should have a strong team work ethic, positive can-do attitude, strong communication skills, sense of accountability and responsibility, accompanied by resilience and an ability to work under pressure at times. A good sense of humour is also valued.
Main duties of the job
Please note for this role you will be required to travel independently around the county meeting strict time deadlines. You will need to hold a full UK driving licence*. You cannot use public transport for this role as this is not a reliable form of transport and will not allow you to meet service needs. - The post holder will provide quality evidence-based nursing advice, support and care for service users with mental and physical health needs and to their carers within a multidisciplinary setting.
- They will be responsible for the assessment, planning implementation and evaluation of nursing care, and should have a working knowledge of local, national policies and legislation which govern current service provision.
- The post holder will be responsible for identifying and contributing to the training needs of junior registered and unregistered staff and ensure that issues of equality, diversity and rights are dealt with in accordance with good practice and legislation.
- They will ensure that effective communication pathways exist, and that they act within their sphere of responsibility, managing the shift in the absence of the Ward Manager or the designated deputy.

1. To be responsible & accountable for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the evidence-based care required, including health promotion for a named service users ensuring it meets Trust timescales.
2. To participate in the setting of quality standards, including the monitoring and reviewing in line with current clinical guidance practice and policy.
3. To ensure the post holder understands and meets their professional role and responsibilities under the Care Programme Approach.
4. To ensure that the requirements of the Mental Health Act 2007 are observed, adhered to, and implemented.
5. To promote carer and service user involvement within the service and for its provision.
6. To encourage recovery, discovery, and independence, considering risk assessment and management.
7. To establish therapeutic relationships with service users and the implementation of evidence based therapeutic interventions with appropriate boundaries in accordance with Nursing and Midwifery Councils professional code of conduct.

Education & Qualification
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse Mental Health (RNMH) or other specialism relating to post such as Registered Nurse Learning Disability (RNLD)
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of inpatient service and working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Experience of dealing with service users with complex mental health needs
- Experience of running, co-ordinating shifts as a nurse in charge
Skills & Abilities
Essential criteria
- Excellent communication skills both verbally and written, including IT literacy (MS Office)
- Ability to work as part of a team, as a role model, empowering and motivating other team members
- Enthusiastic, positive approach and can participate in full rotational shifts.
- Ability to carry out physical interventions (PMVA) as a last resort
- Ability to keep calm and respond appropriately under pressure
