Our Pharmacy team is seeking an experienced Clinical Pharmacist with well-developed interpersonal skills and an interest in specialising their skills within the specialist clinical CBUs to deliver key pharmacy services to the Medicine Division across all sites at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, including Peterborough City Hospital and Hinchingbrooke Hospital in Huntingdon.

Both hospitals are served by good transport links across the region and beyond. You will be required to work cross-site dividing your time between each hospital within the Trust footprint.

You will be a valued member of a friendly and supportive team assisting the Principal Pharmacist Medicine Division in the delivery of corporate, divisional and departmental operational and strategic priorities, as well as contributing to the modernisation of pharmacy services across the Trust.

The post holder will be encouraged to develop and deliver prescribing activities in a specialist CBU clinic.

You will have post-registration experience of hospital pharmacy practice and hold a Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent post-graduate qualification. Ideally, you will hold a non-medical prescribing qualification but support would be given to undertake this if not.

You will be an excellent communicator with strong clinical and teamwork skills.

Main duties of the job

You will play a key role in the development and delivery of pharmacy services providing comprehensive clinical pharmacy service to designated CBU(s)/Speciality area to ensure the accuracy, legality, safety and efficacy of medicine use through the appropriate planning and allocation of work.

You will play a pivotal role in the consultant and MDT ward rounds to deliver evidence-based advice/guidance on medications to ensure their safe and effective use. In addition, you will take responsibility for the development and review of policies, procedures and guidelines for medicine use within the designated CBU(s)/Speciality area.

You will be supporting pharmacy business planning and implementation of electronic clinical systems both across the Trust and local care community to support cost-effective, patient-focussed service provision.

As an experienced clinical pharmacist, you will be responsible for developing and delivering comprehensive training and education on medicine issues within Medicine to members of the pharmacy service and the wider MDT. In addition, you will provide expert clinical and service information to the pharmacy senior management team to support departmental operational service development and strategic planning.
