Person specification

Qualifications

Essential criteria

HND or higher in Clinical Engineering, Electronics or related field

Desirable criteria

Professional registration with IPEM or Engineering Council
Further training in clinical governance, risk, or quality systems

Experience

Essential criteria

Significant experience in medical equipment maintenance and repair
Experience supporting critical care/theatre equipment
Experience supervising junior staff or trainees

Desirable criteria

Experience with ISO 9001:2015 or ISO 13485 systems

Knowledge

Essential criteria

In-depth knowledge of medical devices and standards
Understanding of healthcare risk and regulatory frameworks

Tech-enabled outcome report writing

As a Senior Assessor, you have the opportunity to focus on delivering direct care. Furthermore, if you have the relevant experience and skills, you can take on an additional responsibility. We limit this to one responsibility to allow for focused time on that topic, rather than having your time stretched too thinly. When taking on an additional responsibility, your case volume is reduced, making time available for this focused time.

For Senior Assessors, additional responsibility options include supporting more complex cases, ensuring quality assurance, providing training, facilitating family engagement, and contributing to pathway development.
