COVID-19 Vacancy Acute Oncology Nurse - Woodlands Centre Hinchingbrooke Hospital

Band 6

There has never been a better time to join our Trust than now! We run three busy hospital sites at Peterborough, Huntingdon and Stamford and provide outpatient services in two community hospitals in Ely and Doddington. Our 6,000 staff serve a growing population of 750,000 across North Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated, enthusiastic nurse to apply for the post of Acute Oncology Specialist Nurse at the Woodlands Oncology Centre, Hinchingbrooke Hospital, North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust.

Cancer and its treatments can cause many side effects and complications.  Holding and being responsible for telephone led triage of patients who have received systemic anti-cancer treatment is a fundamental element to this role.

You will also be involved in the development and implementation of local and network protocols, pathways and audits.

As part of the role you will have responsibility for delivering triage training to relevant staff within the hospital.

We are looking for a nurse with recent oncology/chemotherapy experience who is looking to develop with the acute oncology setting.

You will receive an individualised induction programme when you start, to visit all the different areas within the department.
