Ward A8 are looking for a Deputy Sister/Deputy Charge Nurse to cover a fixed term secondment until December 2023

They specialise in acute renal medicine providing haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis services to North West Anglia Foundation Trust, to support patients with a range of general medical conditions as well as complex renal needs. They complete ward based interventional procedures and currently undertaking service expansion work.

It is a fast paced, dynamic environment seeking to recruit an individual who has the ability to remain calm under pressure and has excellent time management skills.

Main duties of the job

Main duties include:

  • taking the nurse in charge role whilst on duty, line management duties for a small team with the support of the ward manager.
  • formal sickness management processes, supporting staff development, completing appraisals, managing mandatory training compliance and pastoral support.
  • a high level of role modelling, adhering to trust policies and guidelines as well as our personal behavioural responsibility framework.

Essential criteria
  • 1ST Level Registration
  • 3 Years experience within speciality / acute care area
  • Teaching qualification- ENB 998 or equivalent, City and guilds 730 or mentorship module
  • Completed or undertaking a first level degree in Nursing/ Health Studies.
Desirable criteria
  • Leadership Course.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Management qualification
  • ILS / ALS trained
  • Post registration qualification relevant to renal medicine

Experience
