Detailed job description and main responsibilities

A formal job plan will be agreed between the appointee and the Divisional Director, Division of Surgery. This will be signed by the Medical Director and will be effective from the commencement date of the appointment.

The Job Plan may be reviewed after three months.

There may be a requirement for activities to be carried out at Hinchingbrooke Hospital, located a 25 minute car journey away from Peterborough City Hospital.

Essential criteria

Inclusion on the Specialist Register for Anaesthesia or within 6 months of completion of training
6 months advanced obstetric training to RCoA standards or equivalent

Management training / qualification

Experience

Essential criteria

A wide experience and training in Anaesthesia and Critical Care to Consultant level.
Experience of teaching Foundation Year and Specialty Trainees to standards required by the RCoA

Essential criteria

Understanding of NHS management structure and recent changes, plus the responsibilities of an NHS Consultant.
Understanding of audit process
Use of wide range of IT functions
Understanding developments in, and the process of medical education
Well organised and skilled in good time management
Effective interpersonal and IT skills
Demonstrate ability to relate to and work within a team
Excellent written and verbal English language skills

Peer MDT diagnostic decision-making, with the support of the senior clinical MDT where required
Tech-enabled outcome report writing
Outcome calls with parents and families (via video call)

As a Senior Assessor, you have the opportunity to focus on delivering direct care. Furthermore, if you have the relevant experience and skills, you can take on an additional responsibility. We limit this to one responsibility to allow for focused time on that topic, rather than having your time stretched too thinly. When taking on an additional responsibility, your case volume is reduced, making time available for this focused time.

For Senior Assessors, additional responsibility options include supporting more complex cases, ensuring quality assurance, providing training, facilitating family engagement, and contributing to pathway development.

ADOS Autism Assessor for Children and Young People, based in our Exeter clinic

Time commitment: Full-time employment is preferred, though we can also offer part-time (minimum of 3 days per week) or a self-employed role (again a minimum of 3 days per week).
