Cardiff and Vale University Health Board (the UHB) is a Smoke Free Health Board. Smoking is banned across all of the UHB sites. Staff are therefore not able to smoke in the hospital grounds or on any other UHB premises.

With effect from 1st April 2017 points 1-5 on the AFC pay scales will be adjusted to £16,523 to reflect the incorporation of the Living Wage Foundation rate of £8.45 per hour.

Applications are invited for the post of Medical Secretary for Clinical Gerontology Directorate based in University Hospital Llandough. This is a permanent post of 35 hours per week.

The successful post holder must have an excellent standard of general education along with previous comprehensive secretarial/administration skills and experience. The post holder should also have appropriate experience and proficiency in Microsoft packages and NHS systems. 

The individual must be reliable and flexible to meet service needs and used to working in a very busy and demanding environment. 

The successful post holder will have the ability to use tact and diplomacy and possess excellent organisational skills and awareness of the high level of confidentiality within their day to day responsibilities. They will be able to work calmly under pressure and use their own initiative on daily work tasks, with the ability to meet deadlines.

Candidates should be aware that Job Sharing is optional for this post.

Ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role
