Job overview
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and well-motivated individual to join our Lymphoedema Service as a Therapy Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about patient care and supporting individuals to manage their long-term condition effectively.
As a key member of the team, you will work under the guidance of qualified lymphoedema practitioners to assist in delivering high-quality care. Your role will involve supporting patients during their treatment sessions, providing practical help with compression garments and bandaging, and offering reassurance and advice to promote self-management.
You will also play an important part in maintaining the smooth and efficient running of the department. This includes preparing treatment areas, managing stock and equipment, and ensuring accurate documentation of patient information. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are essential, as is the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
This role offers the chance to develop skills in a specialist area of care and make a real difference to patients living with lymphoedema.
Main duties of the job
This posts will be based in the lymphodema clinic at Cradiff Royal infirmary. The post holders will work as part of a large team of nurses, physiotherapists and support workers providing therapy to patients suffering from lymphoedma both in the clinic and within the community. This role will invlove both clinical and administratvie tasks to ensure that the department runs as efficiently as possible.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- A genuine interest in patient care and improving quality of life.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and colleagues.
- The ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively in a busy clinical environment.
- A flexible and proactive approach to supporting both clinical and administrative aspects of the service.
