Cardiff and Vale University Health Board (the UHB) is a Smoke Free Health Board. Smoking is banned across all of the UHB sites. Staff are therefore not able to smoke in the hospital grounds or on any other UHB premises.

An opportunity exists for a conscientious, motivated and forward thinking School Nurse (SCPHN) to work within Cardiff and Vale School Health Nursing Service.
We require enthusiastic and positive practitioners who are pro-active and work well as part of a team, take ownership and responsibility for providing an excellent service to children, young people and their families.
We expect our staff to be professional and consistent role models who lead by example and adhere to the Values and Beliefs of C&V UHB.
If you have a natural ability to put others at ease, are patient calm and reassuring, have the ability to communicate honestly when under pressure and work well as part of a team we would like to receive your application.
First level Registration with SCPHN Degree/Diploma in school nursing is essential.
Ability to travel between bases/schools in a timely manner.
The Child Health Directorate is proactive in developing the roles of practitioners in the community. There are also opportunities for personal development and career progression.
The Directorate operates flexible working which includes staff rotating to and from equivalent posts throughout the Directorate, in order to allow individuals to gain experience, for professional development and to allow the UHB to meet the changing needs of the service.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
