Head of Finance Business Partnering & Value

Digital Health and Care Wales is an ambitious organisation created by Welsh Government to lead on the digital transformation of health and care. It builds on the digital architecture and national services put in place by the NHS Wales Informatics Service over the past decade.

The organisation will lead on large-scale developments that make a significant difference to the people of Wales as well as to health and care professionals, such as expansion of the digital patient record and the creation of a National Data Resource. It will improve the way data is collected, shared and used. Please check your email account regularly. Qualifications and Knowledge

Essential criteria

Masters in an associated professional field (or equivalent qualification / experience).
Qualified Accountant with CCAB membership with significant post qualification experience
Specialist and advanced knowledge of financial management accounting techniques, financial aspects of NHS legislation and NHS Finance policies
Advanced and detailed knowledge of strategic and capacity planning.
Further evidence of relevant higher-level education and/or training.
Practical experience, working at this level, across the range of work procedures and practices.
Evidence of continuous professional development

Desirable criteria

Theoretical and specialist knowledge gained via: Better Business cases/Benefits Management & Realisation

Experience

Essential criteria

Significant experience of financial management accounting and finance policies and procedures.
Experience of managing and developing staff.
Experience of dealing with multiple stakeholders with conflicting priorities

Desirable criteria

Significant knowledge and understanding of the NHS, including the political, strategic and operational environment in which it operates.
Knowledge of NHS Wales or the Health sector.

Desirable criteria

Welsh language skills are desirable levels 1 or above in understanding, speaking, reading and writing in Welsh.

Peer MDT diagnostic decision-making, with the support of the senior clinical MDT where required
Tech-enabled outcome report writing
Outcome calls with parents and families (via video call)

As a Senior Assessor, you have the opportunity to focus on delivering direct care. Furthermore, if you have the relevant experience and skills, you can take on an additional responsibility. We limit this to one responsibility to allow for focused time on that topic, rather than having your time stretched too thinly. When taking on an additional responsibility, your case volume is reduced, making time available for this focused time.

For Senior Assessors, additional responsibility options include supporting more complex cases, ensuring quality assurance, providing training, facilitating family engagement, and contributing to pathway development.
