Digital Health and Care Wales is an ambitious organisation created by Welsh Government to lead on the digital transformation of health and care. It builds on the digital architecture and national services put in place by the NHS Wales Informatics Service over the past decade.
The organisation will lead on large-scale developments that make a significant difference to the people of Wales as well as to health and care professionals, such as expansion of the digital patient record and the creation of a National Data Resource. Job overview
We have an exciting opportunity to join the Finance Team as a Band 4 Higher Finance Officer. This is an excellent opportunity for those with finance skills or those who aspire to work in finance.
NVQ4/AAT Technical Level or equivalent experience or willing to work towards qualifications is desirable for this post.
Main duties of the job
- Support the production of financial information for budget holders and help provide detailed financial analysis in the interpretation of financial information.
- To assist in the provision of financial support and advice to Directorates ensuring information is timely and robust
- Ensuring financial information is processed in accordance with month end timetable.
- To deal with financial queries from Finance, other Directorates and Trust staff, providing assistance and advice when required including advising on specific sensitive issues such as invoice charges and income
- Take responsibility for the day-to-day administration, maintenance and accuracy of the monthly financial reporting in accordance with Trust Financial Procedures (FCP’s) and Standing Financial Instructions (SFI’s)
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
This post is fixed term / secondment for 12 months to cover a period maternity of maternity leave. If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.

- 5 O Levels / GCSEs including Mathematics and English or equivalent
