An exciting secondment opportunity for a suitably experienced registered Pharmacy professional has become available at Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW)
The newly created post of Pharmacy Educational Resource Developer and Innovation & Technologies Lead will provide operational and strategic planning support to the Head of Programme Development in formulating the HEIW educational resource programme to support the pharmacy team with a focus on using innovative and new technologies for delivery.
This post is fixed term/secondment until 30 September 2026 to cover an absence. If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.
Main duties of the job
Lead and build a network of local stakeholders to consult with regarding the specific learning needs of the workforce within the pharmacy team
To network and communicate, with a wide range of stakeholders within the pharmacy profession and the wider NHS at a strategic and operational level to gather complex information on areas of clinical and professional practice to inform secondary care development work
Lead the implementation of agreed new technology delivery priorities for clinical pharmacy practice working autonomously with all key stakeholders to benefit service improvement in the delivery of patient care
Recruit and collaborate with clinical experts to agree and design required content for educational resources where topics can be highly complex in nature, contain highly sensitive and contentious skill
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications and Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Masters of Pharmacy degree (or equivalent pharmacy qualification and experience)
- Professional registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Post registration qualification or equivalent experience
Desirable criteria
- RPS membership
- Post registration experience in more than one sector
Experience
Essential criteria
- Significant clinical experience in any patient facing pharmacy sector of practice(s)
- Experience in supporting members of the pharmacy team undertaking training
- Experience of planning and delivering education and training
- Experience of networking with key stakeholders and improving process/patient outcomes
- Experience in deploying innovative technologies to develop services

- Experience of working within a multidisciplinary environment

- Experience /understanding of the external political and social environment, including NHS policy issues and priorities
Desirable criteria
- Experienced in delivery of training via use of virtual technology and associated activities using this format
- Significant experience of managing large and complex projects/work streams
- Experience in writing complex reports for a diverse audience including instances whereby interpretation of related policies is required
- Experience of chairing meetings
