Job overview
We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Nursing Support Worker to join our Rheumatology Day Unit team. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a supportive, specialist environment caring for patients with long-term inflammatory and autoimmune conditions.
This role offers the chance to develop specialist skills in rheumatology, build strong patient relationships, and be part of a friendly and dedicated team committed to excellent care. The ideal candidate will have good communication skills, a caring and professional approach, and the ability to work well as part of a team.
Main duties of the job
You will support the nursing and multidisciplinary team in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care, including assisting with patient preparation, observations, clinical support during infusions and treatments, and ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for patients attending the day unit.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Hywel Dda University Health Board plans and provides NHS healthcare services for people living in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, and bordering counties.
We have over 13,000 staff and together we provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services.
We work in partnership with the three local authorities, as well as public, private and third sector colleagues, including our valued team of volunteers.

Qualifications & Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Level 3 qualification in a health care related subject Or Equivalent experience and can evidence work based competency demonstrating theoretical knowledge, and the ability to undertake clinical care duties relevant for the role which is gained through experience and worked based training/short courses
- Knowledge of the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Wales and All Wales Delegation Guidelines (HEIW)
- Knowledge of relevant policies and procedures within a healthcare setting for example the principles of Safeguarding adults/children to keep patients within their care safe, and confidentiality for example General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of working within a relevant heath or social care environment, providing direct patient care
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working with patient groups relevant to area of practice
- Experience of working within the NHS
Language Skills
Desirable criteria
- Welsh Speaker (Level 1)
