Cheshire and Wirral Partnership Lead Provider Collaborative Commissioning Team  have an exciting opportunity for a person with great communication skills and a passion for patient care.

We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Participation and Engagement Worker to join our dynamic team.  As the Participation and Engagement Worker, you will champion the ethos of participation and engagement, ensuring that the voices of all stakeholders are heard and valued. 

This vacancy is 12 months fixed term

Main duties of the job

The Participation and Engagement worker plays a pivotal role in organizing the participation of service users and stakeholders to inform service development. You will ensure that participation is a positive and mutually beneficial experience for everyone involved, addressing any barriers to access or support that may arise.

You will support the transformation of services by cultivating a wide network of stakeholders and championing participation within the organization and partner agencies. Recognizing the importance of vulnerable and protected groups, they ensure their active engagement in service design processes.

You will identify involvement opportunities for service users, provide necessary support, and remain flexible in engagement approaches to maximize opportunities. You must work across districts to ensure equal engagement opportunities and coordinate service user involvement during recruitment. Upholding professional standards, attending collaborative meetings, fostering innovation, maintaining relationships, providing updates through newsletters, leading digital platform development, and collating feedback are among your key duties.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Educated to NVQ 3 level of qualification and previous proven experience
Desirable criteria
  • Relevent qualification in Participation and Engagement

Knowledge and Expertise

Essential criteria
  • Good knowledge of Participation and Engagement principles
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and the appropriate referral pathways
  • Good communication skills and the confidence and ability to deliver training and presentations
  • Ability to build relationships and develop networks with stakeholders
  • Good understanding of Equality and Diversity in relation to area of work.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working within participation and engagement
  • Experience of organising, delivering and evaluating engagement opportunities including service user feedback.
  • Experience of communicating with a range of groups; inc. service users, stakeholders, third sector partners
  • Experience of managing a digital platform including social media.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
