An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in Western  Cheshire NHS Talking Therapies service, which has  a well established supportive Step 2 team.   We strive to be a committed, high quality clinical team, providing evidence based interventions to the people of Western Cheshire.

We re seeking a highly motivated Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners to join our valued step 2 team.

Post holders need to be registered with  the BABCP or BPS, or working towards registration.

Main duties of the job

Western Cheshire NHS Talking Therapies Service has full / part time vacancies for Band 5, Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners to join our well established, innovative, and highly successful Primary Care - NHS Talking Therapies Service. We pride ourselves on being a supportive, flexible and welcoming team.

We are looking to recruit Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners who are highly motivated to provide excellent, high quality and time limited low intensity psychological interventions in accordance with NICE guidelines to individuals in Western Cheshire.

The successful candidate will join our NHS Talking Therapies Team on a permanent basis. The Team is currently based in the Psychology Department at Bowmere Hospital, Liverpool Road, Chester however we are soon to relocate to Coronation Road in Ellesmere Port.

 The successful candidates will:

  • have completed an 'IAPT' post graduate certificate in low intensity interventions, qualifying them to work as a Psychological Well-being Practitioner
  • provide step 2, NICE compliant interventions using digital platforms, remote technology, telephone and face to face, on an individual and group basis
  • have experience of working in an NHS Talking Therapies and/or Primary Care Mental Health Service
  • have good knowledge of the NHS Taking Therapies targets the Teams are required to achieve
  • will be required to work flexibly to cover the expanding service hours, as required by the service

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • IAPT Post graduate PWP Certificate in Evidence Based Psychological Interventions
Desirable criteria
  • Psychology or other health related degree

Knowledge and Expertise

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of working with people who have experienced a common mental health problem
  • Worked in a service where agreed targets are in place demonstrating clinical outcomes
  • Ability to manager own caseload and time
  • Demonstrates an understanding for the need to use evidence based psychological therapies and how it relates to the post
Desirable criteria
  • Personal development within current role
  • Evidence of working in the local community
  • Demonstrates a knowledge of the issues surrounding work and the impact it can have on mental health

Experience

  • Advanced communication skills
  • Ability to work within a team and foster good working relationships
  • Ability to use clinical supervision and personal development positively and effectively
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Regard for others and respect for individual rights of autonomy and confidentiality
  • Ability to be self reflective whilst working with service users in own personal and professional development
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of dealing with GP practices and primary and secondary services
  • Primary Care mental health team experience
