Job overview

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated and reliable Community Therapy Assistant to work with our the therapy team within Chester Central Care Community Team. The successful applicant will undertake follow up visits and undertake prescribed therapy exercise programmes on behalf of the therapists within the team. Part of this work will be supporting therapists located with the Chester South Care Community Team, based in the Lache Health Centre.

You will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing care to patients in their own homes, driving is an essential part of this role.

The Trust currently supports the Real Living Wage (RLW) hourly rate as set by the Living Wage Federation and will apply a pay supplement if the national A4C hourly rate falls below this.

Main duties of the job

To work alongside the therapists within team to support patients.

Undertaking review of equipment.

Exercise programmes with patients in their own homes.

Supporting on joint visits with therapists.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Relevant NVQ III or relevant clinical experience.
Desirable criteria
  • Recognised equipment fitting course

Knowledge and Expertise

Essential criteria
  • Understanding of rehabilitation enabling techniques
  • Knowledge of policies and procedures relating to rehabilitation
  • Knowledge of health care conditions
  • Knowledge of the human body and physiotherapy interventions e.g. Gait training and exercise
Desirable criteria
  • Understanding of application of electrotherapy

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Proven ability to work as member of multidisciplinary team.
  • Relevant experience in a Health Care setting
