Job overview
Working Part time: 15 hours per week - Saturday & Sunday 08:00 - 16:30
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Radiology Administration Team at The Countess of Chester Hospital. This weekend role is ideal for an organised, proactive, and enthusiastic administrator who enjoys working in a busy environment and is committed to delivering excellent patient-focused service.
As a Weekend Radiology Administrator, you will provide essential administrative support across The Countess of Chester Hospital and Ellesmere Port Hospital, helping to ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of Radiology services. The role requires confidence working independently, excellent computer skills, and the ability to manage a varied workload while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail.
We are looking for someone with previous administrative experience, preferably within a healthcare setting, who has excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills. You should be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a supportive team, while remaining flexible, reliable, and committed to delivering high-quality service to patients and colleagues.
In return, you will join a welcoming and experienced team where your contribution is valued. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your NHS career, gain experience across two hospital sites, and make a meaningful difference to patient care every weekend.
Main duties of the job
In this varied and rewarding role, you will support the delivery of a high-quality Radiology service by providing comprehensive reception and administrative support, ensuring the department operates efficiently and patients receive an excellent experience from arrival to departure.
You will manage, book, and amend patient appointments in line with clinical guidance, Trust Access Policy, and Patient Pathway standards, maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. You will communicate professionally with patients, consultants, clinicians, and colleagues, building positive working relationships and delivering outstanding customer service.
The role requires confident IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications, to support the department's daily operations. Full training will be provided in the Cerner patient administration system, and knowledge of medical terminology would be advantageous.
Working across both The Countess of Chester Hospital and Ellesmere Port Hospital, you will contribute as part of a supportive team, demonstrating flexibility, reliability, and a willingness to adapt to changing service demands. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and motivated administrator who thrives in a busy environment and is committed to delivering safe, efficient, and patient-centred care while making a meaningful difference to the patient journey.
