You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. A small annual fee of £16 per year applies.

Full GMC registration
FRCS or equivalent qualification
Entry on the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for entry within 6 months of the date of interview
Relevant CCT (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of interview)

Clinical Experience and Effectiveness

Evidence of experience in Thyroid surgery & Laryngology
Evidence of working in a multi- disciplinary team
Broad experience in General ENT

Enhanced DBS check applications that are submitted with omitted or incorrect information will be withdrawn. In the event errors are identified on your original application, a new application will need to be submitted and you will be required to pay the DBS application fee again.

The cost of the DBS application will be deducted from your salary over the first three months of employment.

As a Senior Assessor, you have the opportunity to focus on delivering direct care. Furthermore, if you have the relevant experience and skills, you can take on an additional responsibility. We limit this to one responsibility to allow for focused time on that topic, rather than having your time stretched too thinly. When taking on an additional responsibility, your case volume is reduced, making time available for this focused time.

For Senior Assessors, additional responsibility options include supporting more complex cases, ensuring quality assurance, providing training, facilitating family engagement, and contributing to pathway development.
