An exciting and well supported opportunity for an enthusiastic Practitioner psychologist (Clinical or Counselling psychologist), HCPC registered (or on their way to registration ) to join our small psychology team and a very friendly MDT in Crewe, East Cheshire. Our psychology provision is unfortunately limited at present, but we are very keen to expand and develop, meeting  Community Transformation agenda ambitions and to make psychological interventions widely available to a greater majority of the service users under the care of the CMHT.

Applications welcomed from candidates applying for the Band 8A position but we also welcome applications from newly qualified practitioner psychologists who wish to pursue a robust developmental pathway to an 8a position (usually achieved 2 years post qualification )

For the qualified 8A candidate supervision training is essential.

 The successful candidate will be provided with professional and clinical supervision frameworks and multiple opportunities to develop their specialist clinical (including developing/ enhancing therapeutic modalities) and professional skills through a well-resourced CPD structure. Commitment to ethical and trauma informed practice and a positive approach to recovery are essential.

To provide a highly specialist psychology service to clients with complex psychological and mental health presentations.

As a trust we promote working collaboratively  and actively supporting and liaising with other health and social care professionals and agencies. Essential responsibility will be to embed a psychologically informed model of practice within the service and in collaboration with other agencies.

You will provide clinical leadership, supervision, and consultation to junior psychology /therapy colleagues, assistant psychologists, and trainee psychologists. You will take part on service development and quality improvement projects. Community Cheshire East CMHT is an exciting place to work, where change and creativity are welcomed. Staff wellbeing is paramount to our team, and we aim to prioritise this within the workplace. Peer supervision, clinical supervision, management supervision is offered and used to promote staff wellbeing as well as high quality of care.

There are excellent opportunities for continuing professional development and pursuit of specific areas of interest whether clinical, therapeutic or research based.

This is a full time role, and the hours may be spread flexibility across the week to suit the needs of the post holder and the service.

  • Additional Psychotherapy qualification/ training relevant to working with complex presentations in one or more psychological therapies e.g CBT, Compassion focused Therapy, Brief interpersonal therapy, Dynamic Interpersonal therapy
