We are seeking an exceptional Allied Health Professional (AHP) leader to work alongside executive and programme colleagues to shape the future of clinical services, workforce, and care pathways—ensuring a fundamental shift from hospital-based care to community-led, person-centred models.
Main duties of the job
Working in partnership with the Transformation & Executive team, you will provide senior AHP leadership across the design and delivery of the New Hospital Programme.
You will lead the transformation of care models with a clear focus on:
- Ageing Well and frailty pathways
- Shifting care closer to home
- Prevention, early intervention and recovery
- Maximising independence and reducing avoidable admissions
This role will be pivotal in translating clinical ambition into practical, deliverable models of care, ensuring the new hospital and wider system supports modern, integrated, and sustainable healthcare.

Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides a full range of hospital and community services for people across East Cheshire (population 399K) and West Cheshire and Chester (population 357K). Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- Provide a senior AHP voice and perspective into a variety of programme activities as required. This may include attendance at weekly project delivery meetings, more formal programme Board meetings and design workshops.
- Working with the Chief Medical Officer, contribute to the development of the strategic outline and outline and full business cases for the Healthier Futures programme.
- Define the clinical strategy and lead the co-design and co-production of a sustainable clinical model that underpins the success of the New Hospital.
- Ensure that the structure of the Healthier Futures programme and its activities promote a clinical view that is representative of all clinical staff across the Trust.
- Work with the Healthier Futures programme engagement lead to ensure that the voice and experience of service users is captured and influences the programme throughout its lifespan.
- Act as a conduit between the Healthier Futures Programme team and all clinical staff within the Trust to share information and access relevant clinical expertise and information as required.
- Manage interdependencies and coordination across stakeholder groups, ensuring effective collaboration and meaningful co-production of optimised clinical pathways.
- Facilitate the application of the latest clinical research and best practice to the challenge of developing a health care facility that can endure for the next 30 year.
- Lead on the development of a AHP clinical workforce model for the new facility.
- As the programme progresses, take a lead role for planning activities related to transition into the new facility.
- Ensure that information relating to project deliverables, risks and issues are effectively communicated between stakeholders and that key performance indicators are monitored and evaluated.
- Foster collaborative and mutually supportive relationships with project leaders and senior stakeholders, assess cross-functional project team capability, provide coaching, and support to improve collaborative development and project results.
- Provide Programme Board with expert advice, guidance, and support on the clinical workstream.

Qualifications/Knowledge/Previous Experience
Essential criteria
- Professional AHP qualification
- Master’s qualification or equivalent experience
- Previous experience in a senior AHP lead role within the NHS with detailed knowledge and experience relating to current health policy and its impact on the management and development of acute health services. (1)
- Demonstrable track record of the leadership of programmes of work within AHP e.g. service
Desirable criteria
- Other formal qualifications relating to clinical leadership, programme, or project management.
- Experience of programme and project management

Essential criteria
- Ability to analyse and balance complex service, commercial and political decisions and draw appropriate conclusions
- Demonstrate evidence of influencing and persuasion skills
- Experience of the ability to manage change quickly and effectively
- Excellent verbal reasoning
- Excellent reporting writing and presentation skills. Able to present complex information succinctly to a variety of stakeholders
- Politically aware and sensitive to the profile of the Trust
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to deal confidently with multidisciplinary staff at all levels of an organisation including directors and clinicians

- Evidence of effective working relationships both inside and outside the organisation
- Experience in preparing business cases
