Clinical Support Worker
NHS AfC: Band 3
Job overview
We are looking for committed, enthusiastic, highly motivated and reliable Clinical Support Worker to join our friendly team in our state of the art Critical Care Department.
Critical Care consists of 11 commissioned beds. We are a busy and progressive department that has approximately 500 admissions each year. Our team are skilled, knowledgeable, friendly and supportive and is committed to delivering the best possible care for our patients and their relatives.
The role of Clinical Support Worker within Critical Care can be demanding and challenging, but also extremely rewarding for the right individual.
Main duties of the job
A band 3 Clinical support Worker would be expected to work a 6/12hr shift pattern including weekends, nights and bank holidays, being flexible as required. This is a full time position and part time hours will be considered with a minimum of 24 hrs. You would be required to support the clinical team, providing a wide range of duties for the Critically ill patient and their families and to assist in the efficient management of the department. Some of these duties could, at times, be classed as unpleasant, ie exposure to bodily fluids. The successful candidate will be an approachable, enthusiastic & conscientious person and also have good communication, a good sense of team work and be in good health.
IT and customer service skills are desirable. Previous Clinical support worker experience in any health care setting is essential for this role. Suitable candidates must have an NVQ level 2/care certificate or equivalent qualification in health care.
