Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Emergency Care division for a Flow Coordinator.

The  successful candidate will be based on AMU -  the Acute Medical Unit. Who are a 32 bedded admission unit, who focus on emergency admissions mainly from our Emergency Department and urgent care admission area's, then transferring patients to the specialist wards for their continuing care.

Main duties of the job

Applicants will need confident communication skills and experience of dealing with varied professionals and people and will need to have excellent IT skills.

You must be able to undertake and record patient clinical observations and escalate accordingly.

The main duties will include answering the telephone, liaising with the clinical site team and emergency admission area's creating flow in and out of the unit.

Ensuring the smooth operation of patient movement within the trust.

Working for our organisation

MCHFT  provides a full range of local hospital and community services for people across East Cheshire (population 399K) and West Cheshire and Chester boroughs (population 357K). The Trust provides high quality planned and unplanned/emergency care, cardiac and critical care as well as child health, maternity services, and intermediate care across our sites at Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Victoria Infirmary in Northwich, and Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre in Winsford.

The Trust provides 500 beds and employs over 5,000 members of staff. An extensive range of community services is provided across 26 medical centres and schools by our community arm, Central Cheshire Integrated Care Partnership, in collaboration with Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS FT and the South Cheshire and Vale Royal GP Alliance.
