Job overview

An opportunity has arisen to recruit a Trainee ACP within the Ophthalmology Speciality in the Eye Care Centre at Mid Cheshire Hospital & VIN Surgical Centre Northwich.

The post holder will work as a Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP), whilst undertaking a 3-year Apprenticeship Master’s programme in Advanced Clinical Practice. University is anticipated to commence in December 2025. Alongside the master’s programme you will practice clinically with supervisors and the multidisciplinary team. 

The successful candidate will utilise advanced clinical skills and higher level, autonomous decision-making skills in the assessment and/or diagnosis and/or management of patients within the speciality. 

Evidence of experience within the Ophthalmology Speciality is essential and the applicant must demonstrate evidence of degree level study.

Main duties of the job

The role will encompass all aspects within the Ophthalmology Speciality and you will be supported to become an independent practitioner within the fields of Medical Retina, AMD, Diabetic, Glaucoma, Casualty and Intravitreal injections.

The post holder will develop to work within the four pillars of advanced practice which include clinical practice, management and leadership, education and research.
