Job overview
Hi, I'm Mat and I'm the Community Operational Manager for Paediatrics in CCICP, and I'm delighted to share an opportunity with you to come and join our amazing Sensory Processing OT Support Service (SPOTSS).
We are looking to recruit an experienced therapy assistant to join the team, and support in the delivery of the graduated approach across Cheshire. SPOTSS is made up of experienced, registered Occupational Therapists, who have specialised in supporting Children and Young people with sensory processing difficulties.
The team offer training, signposting, and resources available to schools in Cheshire West and Chester (CWAC) and Cheshire East (CE) area, to introduce sensory processing and to provide the tools to work with parents and young people to help determine and evaluate universal sensory strategies that can be used in schools to support the child with their regulation.
This role would support the team further in delivering wider the training highlighted above, as well as supporting schools and settings to fully implement and embed the learning from this training. In addition, the post holder would also support specific children within settings under direction from the registered OTs to help support to implement sensory support plans.

Main duties of the job
The main duties for the role are as follows:
- · To support the service delivery of the Sensory Processing Support Service (SPOTSS) in a graduated approach.
- · To support in the delivery of Universal and Targeted training sessions to a variety of stakeholders, including education colleagues, health colleagues, parents and wider MDT. This is likely to be both virtual and in person training.
- · To assist in the management and treatment of patients under the guidance of a qualified clinician.
· To follow departmental protocols and guidelines referring to a qualified clinician who is available for advice.
· To independently carry out specified assessments, interventions and programmes as planned and discussed with a qualified clinician.
· To monitor and report progress of patients during the implementation of planned interventions and programmes.
· To hold a caseload as delegated by a qualified clinician, reporting back at agreed timescales, highlighting any necessary actions.
· To work with an individual or group in a variety of settings appropriate to the patients need.
· To modify interventions and programmes within defined parameters and within practice scope.
· To support with service development alongside the rest of the SPOTSS Team
