Job overview
East Cheshire NHS Trust has an exciting opportunity available for a suitably qualified Assistant Practitioner to become part of our specialised neuro therapy team within the community.
We welcome applications from motivated individuals with a keen interest in working within an integrated team, with proven experience in neuro rehabilitation, in patient rehabilitation or general community rehabilitation.
Hours per week: 15

Main duties of the job
To work as part of a small neuro therapy team providing a comprehensive, rehabilitation service for patients with a broad range of neurological conditions.
You will be responsible for the delivery of therapy independently or jointly with the therapists in patients own homes, residential and nursing homes.
To contribute to multidisciplinary team management.
To contribute to operational delivery and service development.
The community neuro therapy service is operational over 7 days, from 8am-8pm. You may occasionally be required to work a variety of shift patterns across the 7 day service, to meet service need.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- 5 GCSE’s including English and Maths or equivalent
- BTEC National Diploma or equivalent in a relevant subject
Desirable criteria
- Assistant membership of a relevant professional body
- Completion of a Foundation Degree in Health & Social Care
- Successful completion or currently undertaking an ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence)
Specific Job Requirement
Essential criteria
- Skills in delivering therapy programmes
- Ability to adapt programmes to meet the changing needs of the clients with reference to the supervising therapist
- Ability to support and motivate patients as appropriate
- Ability to carry out and complete delegated project
Desirable criteria
- Experience of contributing to audit
- Experience of working with neurological patients
- Evidence of working as a therapy assistant
- Ability to contribute to patient assessment
- Ability to organise therapy programmes in consultation with the responsible therapist
