Job overview
An exciting opportunity for a Staff Nurse to work across outpatient services within East Cheshire NHS Trust. Supervising junior staff within their own clinics, ensuring competency, providing support, and delivering teaching as required.
This is a varied and rewarding position, covering a wide range of specialties and procedures within the Elective Treatment Centre. You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care and support safe, effective service delivery.
The role also includes providing cover for senior staff in their absence, contributing to the smooth and efficient running of outpatient services.
Hours per week: 37.5

Main duties of the job
- Supervising junior staff, co-ordinating and ensuring smooth running of clinics. Supporting and teaching junior staff. Assisting clinicians during procedures
- Acting as a chaperone and advocate for patients and their relatives.
- Helping to maintain a safe environment, adhering to policies and procedures.
- Deputise in the absence of senior staff.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse (Nursing and Midwifery Council NMC)
- Understanding of NMC Code, safeguarding and consent; working knowledge of NHS values and standards
Desirable criteria
- Post-registration course relevant to clinical area
Knowledge & Skills
Essential criteria
- Able to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care; effective documentation skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to build therapeutic relationships
- Ability to work within a team and take delegated responsibility, understanding of professional boundaries
- Able to prioritise and manage time effectively in a busy clinical setting
- Confident in using electronic patient records and digital systems
- Compassionate, reliable, committed to personcentred care; demonstrates resilience and emotional maturity
Desirable criteria
- Proficient in clinical procedures relevant to the area (e.g., IV administration, catheterisation)
- Experience liaising with families and multiagency professionals
- Knowledge of local and national healthcare initiatives

- Evidence of recent acute or relevant clinical experience (including student placements)
