Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an  individual to join our supportive  team of  Emergency Nurse Practitioners .

This is a great opportunity for the right applicant to receive training and support in becoming an Emergency Nurse Practitioner.

The ideal candidate will be an emergency nurse practitioner however this is not essential as training would be provided to the right applicant to support in becoming an Emergency Nurse Practitioner, Ideally  you should be competent in autonomous assessment, examination, diagnosis and treatment of minor injury, holding a post-graduate certificate in emergency nursing practice and competencies in x-ray interpretation, suturing, plastering, management of complex wounds and injury skills.

The successful candidate will be supported and will be allocated a clinical supervisor.  There will be opportunity to attend teaching sessions, develop clinical skills and undertake further academic study. 

Hours per week: 37.5

Main duties of the job

The Emergency Nurse Practitioner will assess, diagnose, treat, advise and refer or discharge patients, within pre-determined guidelines, without reference to a medical practitioner. Utilising clinical audit, research, supervision of practice and teaching, they will monitor and improve standards of care by efficient and effective use of resources.

  • BSc in Nursing or related subject (or studying towards it)
  • Evidence of post registration education
