Exciting opportunity in Pharmacy Services. 

Following a comprehensive review aimed at modernising and aligning job roles with service needs, the Pharmacy Department at Macclesfield Hospital is expanding. We are pleased to announce a new opportunity for Ward Based ATO role.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team and further expand our ward-based, patient centred work. 

Hours per week: 37.5

Main duties of the job

To assist in the delivery of pharmaceutical care to patients at East Cheshire NHS Trust through the provision of a safe, efficient and effective dispensary and distribution service.

This role is for a ward-based ATO role where the duties will include

  • Assessing patient's own medications.
  • Ordered patient medications.
  • Assisting in the processing of discharge prescriptions at ward level.
  • Optimisation of medicines supplies to prevent wastage.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent including Maths and English at level C or above.
  • NVQ (National Vocational Qualifications) Level 2 in pharmacy services

Knowledge & Skills

Essential criteria
  • Understanding of Pharmacy practice
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Self motivated
Desirable criteria
  • Understanding within a hospital Pharmacy setting

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Working in a Pharmacy or in another area where relevant experience / learning has been gained
Desirable criteria
  • Previous hospital Pharmacy experience
