Consultant Psychiatrist - Adult Psychiatry Inpatients (10/12 PA's)

Female Inpatient Consultant post on Sheridan Unit, at our Hollins Park site in Warrington.

We have had the opportunity to redefine the job description by aligning the inpatient unit more closely with the Home Treatment team.

The inpatient unit job constitutes 10PAs but the post holder will have the opportunity to provide 2 sessions cover to the Home Treatment Team. S/he could advise the Home Treatment Team about admissions to the Inpatient Unit, review some complex patients in the Home Treatment Team who may need to be admitted and also follow up some of these patients, who are not open to Community teams, after discharge from the Unit. This in total makes it a 12PA job. If the post holder prefers to cover only the inpatient unit without covering providing additional sessions to Home Treatment Team, s/he would be offered a 10 PA job for the inpatient unit.

Person specification

The post holder should have MB BS or equivalent medical qualification with full registration, licence to practice and specialist registered or within 6 months of obtaining CCT on the date of the advisory appointment committee. The post is suitable for those who have CCT in General Adult Psychiatry. An endorsement in Liaison psychiatry is desirable but not essential.

This post is subject to an enhanced check with adults barred list Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check.  Successful candidates will either have a valid DBS check with the Trust or will be required to pay for the cost of the DBS Disclosure which is £47.50 for an enhanced disclosure, the cost of which will be deducted from first salary.
