Band 6 Radiographer
NHS AfC: Band 6
Job overview
Warrington & Halton Hospital is looking to recruit Amazing Radiographers.
We are the ‘hidden-gem’ of the North-West and if you are a motivated, hard- working professional, who wants to progress in your career, then “WE ARE” the perfect place for you.
We are a team that is keen to push boundaries and develop our staff from within. We support Radiographer Reporting in Chest, Abdomen, MSK, and Nuclear Medicine.
We encourage self-development and fully support attendance at National and International Conferences to ensure we get the best outcomes for our patients. In recent years we had delegates and presenters at UKIO, RSNA, BNMS and BEMUS.
In return, we expect a team approach. In Primary imaging to ensure work/life balance, we operate a shift system that provides an additional 6 weeks leave per year through TOIL. Also, our overnights are paid, and are not part of a shift system.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidates will gain experience by rotating through the main department, A&E, mobiles/ theatre and intervention. This is across four sites, Warrington, Halton, Captain Sir Tom Moore (CSTM) and Widnes UCC.
Radiology provides a vast array of services across all these sites and have a professional and dedicated imaging team committed to providing a first-class service to our patients and clinical users, with the service focusing upon producing high quality, technical and diagnostic images and providing excellent standards of patient care.
We are a busy department working 24 hours a day across 7 days per week. The department is actively involved in training students from the University of Liverpool. We also support post-graduation studies across all modalities.
Working for our organisation
Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is a caring and compassionate organisation that is both ambitious and innovative. We are committed to delivering the best outcomes for our patients and providing a positive experience of our staff. We aspire to be outstanding for our patients, our communities and our staff and are committed to being a great place to receive healthcare, work and learn.
Straddling the neighbouring boroughs of Warrington and Halton we are part of the Cheshire and Merseyside Integrated Care system. Our hospitals are ideally situated to meet the growing healthcare needs of the 330,000 population of these boroughs.
Warrington Hospital is home to our emergency, critical care and maternity services, Halton Hospital is focused on elective procedures and the Runcorn Urgent Treatment Centre, although many services are offered at both sites and in community hubs.
A CQC-rated ‘good’ organisation with ‘outstanding’ features, we are working towards university hospital status, having achieved teaching hospital status in 2019.
We employ nearly 5,000 people from over 80 nationalities, striving to be a diverse, inclusive employer and recognised leader in equality. We support flexible working, welcoming flexible applications. Proud of our many accreditations, we are embedding an anti-racist approach in all we do.
