Main duties of the job
- Medicines management at ward level including:
- Ordering inpatient medication
- Identifying patients who are being discharged.
- Completing accurate medicines histories for inpatients
- Providing medicines counselling for both inpatient and discharge medication.
- Completing discharge prescriptions at ward level.
- Ensuring patients have a supply of medicines whilst an inpatient.
- Stock control and review of ward stock holdings.
- Training and supervision of pre-registration pharmacy technicians, entry level pharmacy technicians and other support staff
- Dispensary based activities including, dispensing and accuracy checking medication.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
As a Pharmacy technician your main duties will be providing Medicines management at ward level including:

All of our Pharmacy Technicians work within our dispensary dispensing and accuracy checking prescriptions for medicines needed whilst patients are inpatients with us and also on discharge.
