  • Participate in and contribute to capacity meetings, supporting service planning, flow, and optimisation of treatment delivery.
  • Provide on-set troubleshooting support for complex or unexpected clinical or technical issues during pre-treatment imaging and prosoma planning.
  • Ensure departmental compliance with the Trust policies, including health & safety and human resource/absence policies.

Main duties of the job

The James Cook University Hospital (JCUH) Radiotherapy department is a forward-thinking department equipped with 4 Elekta Agility and 2 Elekta EVO Linacs. Featuring IRIS high-definition AI imaging and adaptive planning capability. Our service delivers advanced treatments including Symmetry 4D SABR, Cardiac SABR and DIBH further enhanced by 3 Catalyst HD C-Rad SGRT devices.

A new WOmed T-200 superficial unit is also due to be installed early 2027.

Pre-treatment imaging consists of two Siemens wide-bore CT scanners with Prosoma software and an active brachytherapy service using Nucletron remote after-loading.

We utilise Monaco and Raystation for treatment planning, with Mosaiq managing electronic data transfer throughout the department.
Beyond technology, we are committed to our people. Awarded the Macmillan Quality Environment Mark (MQEM), we pride ourselves on creating a welcoming space for patients and a collaborative environment for staff.

Our Radiographers are fully involved in the MDT approach to developments within department and we actively support clinical development from entry-level to Advanced Practitioner. The department has a major commitment to evidence based practice, and participates in multi-centre clinical research trials, led by our Radiotherapy Research Team.
