Applications are invited to apply for this post who would like to develop their career in a forward thinking, award winning and technically advanced radiotherapy department at The James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough.
Our focus is to continually improve patients’ experiences and outcomes and you will be supported by a friendly, committed multi-disciplinary team of staff striving to ensure the delivery of excellence in all aspects of patient care.
We work between two sites within the hospital, following the build of The Endeavour Unit, an award winning state of the art radiotherapy facility.
You will:-
- Lead on acute operational needs within the radiotherapy service, providing expert clinical decision-making to maintain safe patient imaging and planning.
- Participate in the management of staff availability to cover the needs of the service.
- Coordinate and manage emergency add-on patients, liaising with treatment CLSR colleagues and allocating to appropriate CT in line with clinical priority and capacity.
- Participate in and contribute to capacity meetings, supporting service planning, flow, and optimisation of treatment delivery.
- Provide on-set troubleshooting support for complex or unexpected clinical or technical issues during pre-treatment imaging and prosoma planning.
- Ensure departmental compliance with the Trust policies, including health & safety and human resource/absence policies.

Qualifications & Training
Essential criteria
- BSc Hons in Radiotherapy or equivalent
- HCPC Registration as a Therapeutic Radiographer
- Evidence of continuing professional development
Experience
Essential criteria
- Evidence of supervisory / mentoring role
- Evidence of experience of advanced technical radiotherapy
- Evidence of clinical experience in a range of procedures, practices & equipment including 3D and 2D on set imaging
- Participation in clinical audit / research
Knowledge & Skills
Essential criteria
- Expert knowledge of pre-treatment imaging / planning
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
- Demonstration of effective leadership skills
- Ability to work independently
