We are looking for a forward-thinking and enthusiastic Reporting Radiographer who wants to join our friendly team and gain a wide range of experience.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Radiology department at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (STNHSFT) for a Band 7 Plain Film Image Reporting Radiographer to work within the Sites of STNHSFT.  The department includes the provision of plain film x-ray,  dental (including cone beam CT) and theatre services as well as specialist modalities, including US, CT, MRI and fluoroscopy/interventional radiology.

The successful candidate will be a role model for demonstrating our Trust's values through their leadership attributes and be committed to providing high quality, patient focused patient care.   

Although the successful candidate will be employed by STNHSFT, there will be an expectation of collaborative working across the Tees Valley in the future should the need be required. However, this role is primarily for STNHSFT Community Plain Film services. The successful candidate will join the Community Plain Film roster STNHSFT and work across all service sites. Successful candidates will be an employee of STNHSFT and managed as per the governance arrangements currently in place for Radiology and the organisation.

Main duties of the job

The Radiology service is dedicated in facilitating continuous professional development and role extension/advanced practice. There are more than 30 Advanced Practitioners within the service, with specialist experience in fluoroscopy/interventional radiology, ultrasound, CT, MRI and plain film radiographer reporting.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • To have evidenced experience within radiology imaging areas
  • Plain Film Image reporting experience.
Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience undertaking staff appraisals

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Post graduate plain film reporting training and a proven ability in plain film image interpretation.
  • To have an understanding of a range of imaging modalities
  • Evidence of continuous personal and professional
  • Comply with National radiation Guidelines (IRMER & IRR)
  • Understanding of the role and responsibilities of the post
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of service improvement
  • Experience of clinical audit and research

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • BSc or Msc Radiography or DCR (R)
  • Evidence of post graduate study at a Masters level (post grad cert/MSc)
  • HCPC Registration
  • Relevant post graduate qualification in plain film image reporting
Desirable criteria
  • Masters qualification
