Clinical Support Worker Higher Level

We are looking for a Clinical Support Worker to work in our busy operating theatre department. The James Cook University Hospital has 19 theatres in the main operating department, with a 10 bed recovery suite. Within the theatre suite there are 2 emergency theatres and a dedicated paediatric theatre.

To support the theatre personnel in providing a safe, high-quality care for patients during their surgical procedures

Assisting in the preparation of the operating theatre

Assisting in the preparation of the surgical team

Assisting the surgical team & ensuring safe care is delivered to the patient during their surgical procedures

Assisting in the general upkeep and maintenance of stock levels in theatres.

Providing a safe environment which minimizes the risk of infection to the patient that is within our care.

Maintaining own awareness of and complying with policies and procedures relating to Health and Safety (whether Statutory or Trust) and to assist in ensuring the compliance of other staff.

To assist in ensuring a safe working environment by the reporting of accidents and incidents to the senior person on duty.

Leadership and Improvement Training

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers leadership and improvement training to all new staff to the Trust; this training programme has been designed to support our leaders in developing their understanding of leadership and management skills.  You will be expected to attend the New and Aspiring leaders programme, and the Foundation Quality Improvement Programme that the Trust delivers. After you complete this one and a half day of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities, we offer further in-house courses and bitesize programmes and leadership apprenticeships at level 3,5 and 7.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 vocational qualification or Short courses and completion of competency workbook equivalent to Level 3 in a range of patient and clinical care duties and/or Equivalent knowledge and experience in a range of clinical care duties equivalent to Level 3. - Theoretical knowledge - Experience of a range of care and related procedures - clinical observations - knowledge of relevant legislation
  • Care certificate
  • Numeracy and Literacy Level 2
