Education / Qualifications and Relevant Experience

Essential criteria

Experience of working with clients who express unusual beliefs and may be experiencing psychosis.
Experience of working with clients with substance misuse issues
Experience of managing the risk associated with clients deteriorating mental health.

Desirable criteria

Experience working within a community setting in either the statutory or voluntary sector

Knowledge and abilities

Essential criteria

Knowledge of the effects of mental health issues on service users
A basic understanding of current National Guidelines and Mental Health Act / Mental Health Capacity Act requirements

Peer MDT diagnostic decision-making, with the support of the senior clinical MDT where required
Tech-enabled outcome report writing

As a Senior Assessor, you have the opportunity to focus on delivering direct care. Furthermore, if you have the relevant experience and skills, you can take on an additional responsibility. We limit this to one responsibility to allow for focused time on that topic, rather than having your time stretched too thinly. When taking on an additional responsibility, your case volume is reduced, making time available for this focused time.

For Senior Assessors, additional responsibility options include supporting more complex cases, ensuring quality assurance, providing training, facilitating family engagement, and contributing to pathway development.
