An opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic administrator to join the Trust and provide Administrative Assistant support to the Deputy Chief Operating Officer Team.
Candidates must have strong prioritisation and excellent organisational skills together with the ability to remain calm and collected in a busy dynamic environment. The post holder must be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of workforce groups. We are looking for an individual with proven experience working at a senior Administrative Assistant level, preferably in the NHS and within an operations team. Experience of project management would also be advantageous. Candidates must be able to demonstrate advanced secretarial skills, both written and verbal and be able to liaise confidently with internal and external stakeholders, be competent with IT skills, in particular Excel, Word, Emails and electronic diary management.
This is a full-time post working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday office based at RCHT.

Main duties of the job
As an Administrative Assistant for the Deputy Chief Operating Officer Team the role will be to support our 2 Deputy Chief Operating Officer’s, Programme Manager and our Operational Site Team with daily administrative tasks.
Main elements of the role will include organising workloads and diaries, supporting meetings, attendance at daily site meetings to monitor actions and to work closely with the Executive Assistant to the Chief Operating Officer.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
To work as a key member of the Deputy Chief Operating Team, Programme Manager and Operational Site Team to provide comprehensive and confidential secretarial and administrative support in the Team.
Provide cover for the Executive Assistant to the Chief Operating Officer during periods of absence.

Essential criteria
- Good general education including GSCE Maths and English at Grade C or above or equivalent
- Word processing qualification
Desirable criteria
- Secretarial Certificate or Diploma
- Loggist Training
- Knowledge of current NHS IT systems

- At least 2 years' proven secretarial experience working at a senior level.
- Experience in taking, transcribing and circulating minutes of meetings.
- High level working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Electronic diary management.
- Worked independently with limited supervision.
- Understanding of access and performance targets.

- Experience within a large NHS or public sector organisation.
- Working within an operational setting.
