This is an exciting opportunity to join the Women & Children's Collaborative as Integrated Team & Operational Manager (Band 7) fixed term for 12 months (Maternity cover). 

This post sits within Children’s Health Services County wide, Women and Children’s Collaborative within North Cumbria and This role is an integral part of Community Children's services which includes children’s therapy, children’s community nursing and Paediatrics. It also includes Inpatient care for children and young people in North Cumbria and Level One neonatal care.

The department is key to the wider inter-agency system for Children and Families and is fundamental to improving the health outcomes for all children in the County. This service delivers care in the community in Cumberland, Westmorland & Furness areas.

The Integrated Team & Operational Manager will be responsible for supporting, supervising and developing their team to promote universal health services and to improve the physical and mental health outcomes of children with additional needs.  They will play a key role in service development and modernisation, ensuring that the evidence for practice is systematically implemented.

Disclosure and Barring Service:

On 28 November 2020, the new Disclosure and Barring Service filtering rules will come into effect.

The changes mean that:                  

  • youth cautions, reprimands and final warnings will no longer be subject to automatic disclosure
  • the multiple conviction rule has been removed, meaning that if an individual has more than one conviction, regardless of offence type or time passed, each conviction will be considered against the remaining rules individually, rather than being automatically disclosed.

Please note the cost of the DBS check is increasing from 2nd December and the new cost will be

Standard DBS check £21.50, Enhanced DBS check £49.50 + any admin costs.

The cost of the DBS must be met by the successful candidate(s) through salary deduction. DBS charges are as follows if applicable to the post:

 

Standard Check: £18 + Administration cost of £3.85 = £21.85. Deducted at £6.85 from 1st month salary and £5 deducted from salary over following 3 months.

Enhanced Check: £38 + administration cost of £3.90 = £41.90. Deducted at £11.90 from 1st month salary and £10 deducted from salary over following 3 months.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Leadership/Management qualification or Clinical qualification and demonstrable management experience
  • Evidence of Continuous Professional Development including evidence of specialist clinical and/or leadership training to post graduate diploma level or have an equivalent level of knowledge.

  • Teaching / mentorship qualification

Knowledge and experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience in a management role, supervising and directing staff
  • Involvement of Service Users and Carers in evaluating and planning of services

  • Experience in staff training and development, appraisal, supervision
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the role of Governance and the application of NICE guidelines
  • Experience of multi agency working
